Hi, Welcome to DE Tools Of The Trade, a blog by and for K-12 educators who teach partly or completely online. My name is John Goldsmith and I'm high school humanities (plus a few other subjects) teacher who teaches entirely online. I've been involved in online or distance education for well over a decade and have enjoyed every minute of it. Part of that pleasure may stem from a passion for technology and the Internet. As a result, I'm constantly looking for new and interesting applications, services and resources to use with my online courses, teching practice or personal amusement (You know what they say about all work and no play :-) Several colleagues suggested that I share what I've found and so began this blog. It's also given me an excuse to learn more about blogging in general and Wordpress in particular. I try to post at least one new resource a day (more if I get time) but the number of web resources is increasing faster then my ability to keep up so, you can help. If you've found something that will interest or assist educators, please let me know and I'll add it to the blog. The criteria is simple:
