- Description: Easysite is a website that really does make it easy to create your own website. To get you started, Easysite provides a free account and free space. It's not a lot of space but enough to make a few basic web pages and try the service out. There is no software to install and registration is fast, easy and free. Access to your new web site can be made private, public or via user name and password. If you like Easysite but want more space, there are premium subscription (pay) plans available.

- Description: Evoca is a web based service that allows you to make an audio recording which you can then send to others as a pod cast or simply as an e-mail attachment. If you are using standard blogging software such as Blogger or WordPress you can even install an Evoca plug-in to allow visitors to leave audio comments. Audio file can be saved in a variety of different formats and tagged (a la, del.icio.us). You can even use Evoca to search the content of your recordings word for word.

- Description: Juice is an open source application that does the same sort of thing with podcasts. You can use the application to subscribe to several different podcasts then have it check for new podcasts at scheduled intervals. The program is open source and available for Windows and Mac's

- Description: Ever wanted to try podcasting but didn't have the faintest idea where to begin? If the answer is yes then this site is for you. Everything you ever wanted to know about podcasting plus a bunch more stuff you didn't know you needed to know. It's called "Poducate Me" and it bills itself as, "Practical Solutions for Podcasting in Education". As far as I can tell, this site covers every aspect of podcasting from a definition of the term to subscription services through Apple i-Tunes. Hardware considerations, software options, microphone position, recording, editing - it's all here and then some. The information on the web is free to access. A printed copy will cost $19.95.

- Description: Protopage is a cross between a blog and a bulletin board and Mac widgets. More specifically, it's a web page (or series of pages) containing a lot of little boxes. The boxes can be moved, edited or added to. Inside each box is a function such as an RSS feed, a pod cast, a Mac like widget, a "to-do" list and many more options. Because it's on the web, it can access it from anywhere and at any time. Plus, Protopages are easy and fun to use, move around in and modify. You can also make part or all your pages assessible to the public - or not.

- Description: Scrapblog has amazing tools for importing, editing, cropping, rotating and manipulating images, video and audio. Begin with a blank page and start creating. Add more pages as needed. The pages are automatically linked together to form a slide show. When finished, simply "publish" the slide show to the Web. A unique URL is provided so that others can view your creation. Slideshows can be public (open to anyone on the web) or private (only people who you invite can access your creation). There is even an RSS feed to notify folks when any changes are made.

- Description: A tutorial intended for librarians but it's application and utility go far beyond that particular environment. The topic is Web 2.0 and the many aspects of social networking such as blogs, wiki's, RSS Feeds, Vidcasts and PodCasts. The content and curriculum are still open and accessible. It provides a nice structured introduction to Web 2.0 and all it's tools.

- Description: TailRank is a News Aggregator which only indexes or aggregates "good" blogs - blogs that are current and up to date with regular posts and responses to comments. How "good' the blog is, is determined by the number of people to link to or subscribe to it. TailRank then continuously surveys these blogs to see what people are talking about and displays these results on it's webpage with links back to the individual blogs. So, if a majority of bloggers are talking about the release of a new version of Firefox, that what you'll find on the front page of TailRank. The blogs are also divided into categories such as "General", "Technology", "Politics", etc. Sign up for a few accounts and you can customize your results.

- Description: UStream is a website that allows anyone with a webcam to create and stream a live, real time video feed. With this service, you could also stream a class you were teaching out to other sites - live. Unlike video conferencing however, the stream is just one way, not two. Like television, people can see and hear what you are doing but they can not interact or respond.
